WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE:
LifeBridge Community Church was launched on Easter Sunday 2005.
We are here to provide a place for individuals and families in our community to enter a relaxed environment where they have an opportunity to begin a spiritual journey to discover who God is.
We strive to make all our teaching thought provoking yet packaged in such a way that even those who have no church background will understand everything being said. The goal of everything we do is to help people connect with God and discover and live out His purposes for their lives. Come discover your value to God!
LifeBridge is co-affiliated with the Baptist General Conference of Canada as well as with the Canadian National Baptist Convention. These affiliations give us great opportunity and support as we seek to plant churches and be a catalyst for the Gospel in Atlantic Canada
Here is a brief introduction to our team:
LEAD PASTOR: STEVE SAVAGE
I have had the privilege of joining the staff at LifeBridge Community Church in August 2017. My greatest accomplishment is probably the fact that I have been married to an amazing woman, Debbie, since 1989 and can say that we’re still in love with each other, even while raising 3 great kids, Bryce 20, Dustin 22 & Sydney 25. Wife Debbie’s and my goal in life (outside of loving Jesus, our family and our neighbour) is to lead others, with others, through a lifestyle of discipleship into an active relationship with God the Father through an intimate love relationship with Jesus Christ. I always love meeting people and hearing stories of God’s transforming power. I’m sure looking forward to hearing your story. Please feel free to contact me – I love drinking good coffee and making new friends.
CHURCH PLANTING PASTOR: BRYCE HARRISON
Bryce and his wife, Elizabeth, have two boys – Coleman and Gilbert. Bryce and Elizabeth both grew up in missionary families before graduating from North Greenville University. Bryce earned his Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Harrisons moved to Nova Scotia in 2021 to pursue the Lord’s calling to plant churches.
Bryce enjoys softball, disc golf, Lord of the Rings, and Paw Patrol.
CHURCH PLANTING PASTOR: ROB LAIDLAW
If one word were used to describe our family, I think it would be adventure.
We all love adventure, whether it be crawling through caves, scaling waterfalls, hiking scenic look-offs or church planting – we love experiencing God’s creation and stepping out in faith in whatever he calls us to do. Rob has an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoys seeing new kingdom ministries developed and developing young leaders. Julie is a part-time music school teacher and loves both worship ministry and children’s ministries. Brett is planting a church in Barrington, Nova Scotia. Lindsay is on staff with YWAM in Malaysia. She is also developing her web-development business to help support her in her ministry.
Rob and Julie have moved into Eastern Passage where they are proceeding to plant a partner church called Explore Church. Check out their website to discover more.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR: REBEKAH PIRKLE
I grew up on the mission field in both Zimbabwe and Honduras. I felt called to missions at an early age and began my adulthood as a Children’s Center Supervisor and School Administrator in Honduras. I moved to South Carolina in 2019 and joined a church planting team seeking to plant a church in the HRM. I joined staff at LifeBridge Church in November of 2021 as the Children’s Ministry Directory. In my spare time I love to use my culinary degree to bake with my nephews, work on my musical skills, and travel.
CHURCH PLANTING TEAM: HANNAH SQUIRES
Hi! I’m Hannah Squires, a church planting team member at LifeBridge Church! Through my involvement in the local church while pursuing my undergrad and working my first job in Greenville, South Carolina for the past 7 years, the Lord has cultivated in me a desire to spend my life heralding the gospel in places of great need. I am thrilled to join LifeBridge as we seek to reach the lost for Christ here in the HRM through church planting. On my first trip to Halifax, we visited St. Mary’s University where, little did I know then, I will begin an International Masters of Teaching English degree this fall. Through this opportunity, I hope to engage university students with the gospel. I’m excited to serve with Life Bridge as an evangelistic presence on the university campus and in the city. A few of my favorite things include exploring Nova Scotia, listening to jazz, experiencing different cultures and making Jesus known!
