And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:14 (NIV)
“An unreached or least-reached people is a people group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize this people group.” Joshua Project
There are still over 7000 ethnic people groups in the world who have no access to the gospel of Jesus Christ. That’s over 2.9 billion people.
The majority of these unreached peoplegroups exist in what we call the 10/40 window. The 10/40 Window is the region in the eastern hemisphere between 10 degrees and 40 degrees north of the equator. Approximately two thirds of the world’s population (2.8 billion) reside in this area that encompasses only one third of earth’s land mass. Close to eighty percent of the world’s poor live within these boundaries.
There exist approximately 1000 churches for every unreached people group in the world. If only one church for every thousand chose to take the Great Commission seriously, we could reach the entire world in a relatively short period of time. We want to be one of those churches.
