Protecting Your Child’s Self-Worth

Are you concerned about your child’s self-image?

  • Does your child shy away from people or new activities?
  • Is your child anxious about performing well?
  • Does your child avoid risky situations?
  • Is your child easily frustrated or angered?
  • Is you child overly competitive?

All these may be symptoms that they struggle with their sense of identity. As parents, we can strengthen our child’s sense of worth apart from their performance or opinions of others – the question is how? This seminar will look at the different responses children exhibit as a result of low self-worth and provide some practical solutions.

Steve was in the sales & marketing business (construction related products) for 20 years before becoming a pastor in 2007, and Debbie owned an office and home cleaning business for 20 plus years before moving to Dartmouth. Outside of church life they are both big sports fans and fun-loving coffee snobs.   Steve is the Lead Pastor at LifeBridge Community Church.

Julie & Rob Laidlaw

They have two children who are now grown and are venturing across the world, Brett (20) and Lindsay (19).  Rob has been pastoring for over 25 years, and together with Julie, is starting a new church in Eastern Passage. Julie is currently a music teacher at an elementary school in the HRM. For fun they enjoy hiking and exploring sites around Nova Scotia and the world.
