THIS SUNDAY:  Rob Laidlaw Speaking

Title: The Birthday Boy Has A Name

Key Verses:

Matthew 1:21 (NLT)
And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”

Matthew 1:22-23 (NLT)
22  All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet: 23  “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’”

Theme: We like to think we can fix things…make things right. This includes our circumstances, other people’s problems, even ourselves. We spend a lot of energy trying to make life the way we think it should be, in order to feel at peace, contented and fulfilled. The problem is…it never ultimately works. Not only does chaos in life seem to continue, we continue to struggle with the same issues for years without real change occurring. What will rescue us from the frustrations of the present? Come find out on Sunday!

Help bring JOY to children of prisoners this Christmas
There are approximately 350,000 children in Canada who experience the stigma and separation of having a parent in prison or in jail. Angel Tree Christmas is a program of Prison Fellowship Canada (PFC) that connects church communities and individuals with the families of inmates through the delivery of a Christmas gift on behalf of the incarcerated parent. For inmates, your support helps them experience the love of God during a time marked by guilt and loneliness.  For more information click on the link http://prisonfellowship.ca/angel-tree-christmas/
