What Does Prayer Look Like?

Jesus prayed earnestly, purposefully, and with certainty. He knew that God answers prayer. “The Lord’s prayer” was given during Christ’s Sermon on the Mount to provide an example for how we should approach the throne of grace. Prayer that truly touches the heart of God and changes the world comes from a heart that is passionately dependent on God. Prayer is a great privilege and a great responsibility for believers.

What do you do when life doesn’t turn out as planned, or when you’re facing hard times and wondering how you’re going to get through? What do you do when the darkness seems so thick that it’s hard to remember the light? As Christians, we have a heavenly Father who has promised to be with us in our struggles. We can rely on him – he knows what will happen before we do; nothing is hidden from His sight. He sees in the darkness of troubled times as clearly as he does in the daylight. When we humble ourselves in fasting & prayer, we find intimacy with God, knowing that he hears and answers all our prayers.
