Murder 'She' Wrote

John the Baptist was the fulfillment of several Old Testament prophecies and was the last of the Old Testament prophets. He was the last martyr of the Old Testament period and the first of the New Testament period. While this passage reveals the details of John’s death, it also records the death of something else. This passage records the death of a conscience – Herod’s. People today have bought into Herod’s philosophy of life that says, “If it feels good, do it!” but instead of living free they are choosing death. As we move through this text, allow the Lord to speak to your heart.

From Series: "Real Jesus"

At the heart of Christianity is a central question, "Just who is Jesus?” It may be astounding to some that such a question is still relevant after nearly two millennia of Christian activity, but as strange as it may seem, even Christians do not agree about the nature of the Founder of Christianity. This fact says a great deal about those who profess to be "Christian," which at its most basic means "follower of Christ." If Christians display such profound disagreement about Jesus Christ Himself, can they all really be following the same Person? This series follows the Mark’s Gospel as he takes us on a journey to introduce to us the real Jesus of history.
