People who claim to be followers of Christ much too often have only a superficial ‘faith’. It may be a mask that they throw on when needed to hide their true selves or a badge they wear to try and fool others into thinking they are ‘good Christian folk’. Paul is challenging us to be dressed for success… not as the world defines success mind you but rather as to be identified as God’s holy people, completely clothed (covered) in our new life in Christ.
From Series: "Hidden in Christ: Live with Assurance Before a Holy God - Share with Confidence to a Hurting World"
If we are truly on ‘mission’ to connect people to God, we must have the confidence and assurance that we ourselves are in good standing before this God. If we’re not confident, how then can we expect others to believe? Let us learn what it means to be living the Christian life, certain about our standing before God, no longer feeling defeated about our poor ‘performance’ as so called ‘good’ Christians and knowing that we measure up to the holy standard through God’s Son. The glorious news is that we can be fully confident to enter God’s presence as welcomed sons and daughters because to be hidden in Christ means that God no longer sees our imperfections; he sees the righteousness of his own Son. In Christ, our sin debt is cancelled, our relationship with God restored, and our eternity secured.
